Olympian Visit from Hamilton 'Hammy' McMillan Jr (added 3/10/23 by Mrs James)
We had a superb morning with Hammy, silver curling medallist and world champion who visited Milton this morning organised by Persimmon Homes. Hammy was given a tour by our Vice Captains and shown around our classes. The pupils were able to quiz Hammy on his career so far and his sporting accolades. He enjoyed a presentation from our Primary 7 who talked about their role as sports ambassadors. Hammy then took part in a curling lesson with Primary 4 - the competition was fierce! Our House Captains then joined Hammy at Lesmahagow High School to present certificates to various pupils within the learning community and listen to more about Hammy's early career and future hopes. The children were an absolute credit to you all today and Milton Manners were definitely on show! Questions given were thoughtful and Hammy was impressed with the boys and girls in Milton Primary. Head over to twitter to see some photos of the day.

Walk to School Week (added 12/5/23 by Ana, Isaac and Murray - our Junior Road Safety Officers)
Next week (wk/beg 15th of May) is Walk to School Week and we are trying to encourage all the pupils at Milton to walk to school.  Walking is good for the environment and is good for your health. Every class will have a wall chart where active journeys will be written up each day and each child will get a daily sticker. There will be an extra reward of an extra playtime for the class that has the most active journeys (this will be worked out fairly as the class sizes are different).  If your child requires dropping off by car, we recommend dropping them off a bit further away from the school and encouraging them to walk for the last bit so they still have an active journey. If your child has to take the bus, we will set up a walking route for them in the playground, when they get off the bus.  Thank you and happy walking!  Ana, Isaac and Murray, the JRSOs.
